Come and discover your own adventure at Sentosa! Continue.....

On the previous post, we shared with you about the main attractions in Sentosa. It shows the place where you can have the time of your life! Up next, we will be recommending places whereby you could recharge and spend the night at, to get ready for the next fun packed day ahead! We will introduce some of the well-known resorts / hotels to you. In addition, do not forget about the beaches and MegaZip Park. Remember “Come and discover your own adventure at Sentosa”!

Recharge and spend the night @

1) THE SENTOSA AND SPA RESORT
Located at the top of the cliff, it gives you overview of the South China Sea. The attractive point of the resort is that it offers Turkish-style steam baths and MUD pool which is the first in the region! However, check out the price before checking in as a night can cost up to S$2,000. If you have the cash, it is worth to try out the Pool Villa which includes a personal terrace and swimming pool. Do not forget to pamper your stomach at The Terrace Cafe after finishing your spa.
Accommodation Rates:
Ranging from S$380+++ to S$2,000+++ per room per night (subject to prevailing taxes)

2) RASA SENTOSA RESORT, SINGAPORE

The first impression is of an old model resort, with blue and white as the exterior colour.Yet looks can be deceiving. Inside, there a large swimming pool where kids can be seen sliding down the pool slide while many are sun tanning. As for the foodie, there is a wide range of food from Mediterranean fare to Asian-inspired cuisine. It is definitely a 5 star hotel which does not disappoint.

Accommodation Rates:
Ranging from S$375++ per room per night (subject to prevailing taxes)

3) COSTA SANDS RESORT

Beside the usual facilities, it surprise me that there are video games machines in the resort, those which can be seen in arcades. In addition, there is a ‘coffee shop’ in the resort, which will remind me of the coffee shop under my block and can give tourists a feel of the heartland. On the other hand, there are 15 Kampung huts which is a plus value for the resort, where you can get a taste of the ‘traditional’ living instead of the usual air-conditioned room.

Accommodation Rates:
Ranging from S$80nett to S$150nett per room per night (subject to seasonal rates)

I would recommend you to choose the Costa Sands Resort. Why? Firstly there is the Kampung huts which I think can give you a totally different experience, a similar taste of the past living conditions in Singapore, yet at the same time, it is not too uncomfortable for you to have a good rest. Secondly, it has a HDB style coffee shop, allowing you see the local life if you have no time to visit the HDB estate. Lastly, it is the cheapest compared to the other 2 resorts. In addition, there is now year end, xmas and also new year package, future ruducing the price for Costa Sands Resort.

Beaches @

Free and easy time at the beach! The beach here is definitely cleaner and the PLUS point is that the sand is finer than the usual sand around the rest of Singapore beaches.
1) PALAWAN BEACH
Palawan beach is more for handing out with friends. This is where the suspension bridge that links to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia is. Grab your camera and start camstorting on the long range bridge. You can either have fun throwing your friend into the deep blue WATER,or just lie down under the smooth fine sand for a FREE spa. If not, you can choose to surf the net as there is the wireless internet access.
Getting there: Yellow Line Bus, Red Line Bus, Palawan-Tanjong Beach Tram, Sentosa Express (Alight at Beach Station).

 2) SILOSO BEACH

Personally, out of the 3 beaches, I love Siloso beach the best! This is so as this is where the hulks are (for guys babes). They are such a charm when playing volleyball that you can’t help but keep on staring at them. If I have the S-shaped body and skills, I will quickly change into bikini and get down to a game with them. Sadly, i lack both, only able to stand at the sideline and take PHOTOGRAPHS =p of them. Well, get into your Bikini / Bermudas and be ready to dive for the ball!
Getting there: Blue Line Bus; Red Line Bus; Siloso Beach Tram; Sentosa Express (Alight at Beach Station).

3) TANJONG BEACH
Too bad I do not have the other half yet! This beach is more for couples where the skyline of the mystery night with twinkling lights of ships docked nearby may give you the simple yet romantic place for proposing. And it is free!!

Getting there: Yellow Line Bus, Red Line Bus, Palawan-Tanjong Beach Tram.

PLUS POINT: Refill your water bottle at various water cooler located at around Sentosa!

MegaZip Adventure Park
The newest adventure in town, MegaZip Adventure Park consists of 3 segments, the MegaZip, ClimbMax and ParaJump.

1) MEGAZIP
Flying at the speed of 50km/h down the longest and steepest Flying Fox in Asia MegaZip, there is no worry  about the safety as there is the newly patented ZipR™ trolley, which will ensure gentle landings. Definitely worth to give it a try where you can have a bird eye view of Palawan Bench. PLUS POINT: fly past the sea and land off at a little island.

Adrenaline Cost: $29

2) CLIMBMAX
Treetop adventure including 3 different levels, ranging as high 12 m! It is a scary yet refreshing experience, and I can proudly say that I NEGOTIATE through the whole ‘walk’ in the course of narrow beams, ropes and nets.... with the feelings of a roller coaster. PLUS POINT: climb all the way to the top for a scenic view!

Adrenaline Cost: $39

3) PARAJUMP
It is the cheapest among the other 2 attraction, and even look the simplest. But do not be deceived by the look. 15 m or 5 storeys above the ground, the attraction is also the easiest to complete. Step one foot out, and off you go into a freefall parachute jump! Only obstacle: the faith in lifting that small step forward, for the short yet addictive burst of adrenaline rush! PLUS POINT: I took 7mins to get ready for that JUMP, what about you?
Adrenaline Cost: $10

If you do mind the prices, you can actually opt for the Combo Package of MegaZip & ClimbMax (2 circuit) which cost $59, saving you $9. And of all the attractions in Sentosa, MegaZip Adventure Park ClimbMax is the one that I most like myself!

Opening Hours: 2pm-7pm on Monday to Saturday 11am- 7pm on Sunday & Public holiday
Location: Imbiah Hill Road

Naturewalk

It is free admission and is a 1.8km trail. Yet on the walk, it do not feel like a 1.8km trail, and it is actually quite boring experience. This may be due to the fact that it is a secondary rainforest. On the other hand, if you would just want to unwind or take a slow stroll with your love ones, this is the right place on the island. If not, maybe you would instead head down to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve for the original (primary) rainforest, located near the centre of Singapore.

PLUS POINT: FREE
Location: Imbiah Hill Road

Want know more about Sentosa? This post is for you!

We went to Sentosa and enjoyed the whole day! Sentosa is just incredible! There are many nice attractions such as Song of the sea and underwater world. The staffs there are very friendly and helpful too. The icon at Sentosa is the Merlion which represent Singapore. Furthermore, Sentosa has beautiful beaches where you can go relax and have fun! If you love the Sun and enjoy sun-tanning, Sentosa is the place for you to go!

Sentosa is an island located at the southern part of Singapore. Before heading in, shop at the nearby VivoCity for food to bring in. Take this advice or you’ll be regretting!! It is definitely not worth the money where a plain water bottle would cost you $3 compared to the usual $0.50 water in supermarket.

Sentosa is an island with many fascinating rides, beautiful beaches and well-known hotels. With a rich history and excellence services, we highly recommend you all to visit Sentosa! Come and discover your own adventure at Sentosa!

Below are some of the main attractions that we visited and we enjoyed throughout the whole day!

1) SENTOSA LUGE AND SKYRIDE
The Luge ride is fantastic! This is actually the first luge in Southeast Asia. We were basically racing down the hill along the thrilling 650m track by using its steering and braking system. It was exciting and we really enjoyed it. After the Luge ride, we took the Skyride that is hanging 60 feet above the ground, back to the top. We saw the stunning views of forest, coastlines and the sea while riding on the Skyride. It was also very relaxing. We recommend you to try on both rides.

2) UNDERWATER WORLD AND DOLPHIN LAGOON

If you want to see the world of marine creatures, Underwater World is for definitely for you! When we stepped into the 83m long tunnel, we saw numerous different kinds of fish such as sharks and stringrays and also corals. We felt like we were really in the world of ocean with marine creatures swimming around us. It was amazing and beautiful! In addition, if you want to interact with marine creatures, there are two packages for you. The two packages are “Dive with the Sharks” or “Dive with the Dugong”. We recommend you to go to Underwater World early to avoid the crowds so you can enjoy your time to watch the fish in moderate quiet.h the Dugong”.

Next is the Dolphin Lagoon where you can see the Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins perform! Before we went to the Dolphin Lagoon, we refused to believe that dolphins were able to perform a lot of amazing stunts but after the show, we were amazed by the dolphin’s performance. The dolphins were amazing and we were mesmerised by the way they did the stunts! Furthermore, if you want to get close and interactive with the dolphins, there is a package for you and the package is “Swim with the Dolphins”.

3) FORT SILOSO TOURS
If you want to know more about Singapore’s earliest days through the events of World War II, you should go to Fort Siloso. We saw a lot of photographs, documents, 17th century gun, old tunnels and many more. It was amazing and we enjoyed it.

There are free guided tours that can register at the Fort Siloso Tram Station for every Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 4pm. Each tour only has a maximum capacity of 20 people. If you want to learn more about the history of Fort Siloso, we highly recommend you to come to Fort Siloso!

4) THE MERLION AND MERLION WALK

This is biggest Merlion in Singapore and it is also the tourism symbol of Singapore! While on the way to the top, we encountered legendary sea creatures and learn the history of Merlion through the interesting way of animation. Furthermore, the views were truly spectacular when we were at the mouth of the Merlion! After we visited the Merlion, we take a rest along the Merlion Walk which has a long, small fountain. There is also a souvenir shop and “DĂ©lifrance CafĂ©” at the Merlion. We highly recommend you to visit the Merlion.

5) IMAGES OF SINGAPORE

Want to learn more about Singapore? Then this is the place that you must go! We walked down the alley of legend, folklore and fact to experience the 'I am there'! We also learnt the history, culture, values and other things in the shortest and most interesting way. After the tour on Images of Singapore, we learnt a lot about Singapore.

6) TIGER SKY TOWER
Beside Merlion and skyride, Tiger Sky Tower also offers you the breathtaking view of Sentosa! At the height of 131m, we saw the breathtaking views of Singapore, Sentosa, neighbouring countries like Malaysia and Indonesian Islands. In addition, the cabin is air-conditioned and also spinning slowly around which allow us to see the 360 degree view of Sentosa. It was relaxing and we enjoyed the ride!

7) SENTOSA 4D MAGIX

Be prepared to get all your senses engaged in this first 4D theatre in Southeast Asia! There are 3 different shows for you to choose from. We chose the “Desperados” and it was a fun ride. The amazing visual effects, surround sound and “live” environmental effects make you want to watch the show again. Furthermore, the seats will move also!

8) SENTOSA CINEBLAST

We think that it is the same as the Sentosa 4D Magix, but we are not totally right or wrong. Because Sentosa Cineblast and Sentosa 4D Magix are both are 4D, but Sentosa Cineblast is also a stimulation ride! We enjoy throughout the ride. It was fun and thrilling! Imagine flying to the top of the mountain and down into the deepest valleys!

*There is a combo package (Sentosa 4D Magix + Sentosa CineBlast) that include admission to Sentosa 4D Magix & Sentosa CineBlast for 1 person. The price is S$29.90 for adult and S$17.90 child (Aged 12 years and below, and with a minimum height of 90cm). Complimentary admission for kids under 3 years old, but no 3D glasses will be issued.*

9) BUTTERFLY PARK AND INSECT KINGDOM
Do you like insects and butterflies? If you like, you must come to the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom! When we stepped into the park, we were like stepping into the world of butterflies. There is over 50 different species of butterflies!

Do not get frighten if the insects may just 'land' on you. You can enjoy their complicated yet enchanting patterned wing. Being one of Asia’s largest collections of insects, be sure to come to Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom if you are an insect lover!

10) SONG OF THE SEA
After all the endless activities we had enjoyed at Sentosa, we were extremely tired. We thought that Song of the Sea was just an ordinary 25 minutes show with a boring water show but we were totally wrong about it. The show was truly spectacular! We were totally amazed by how well they mixed the three elements (water, fire and laser) and the live casts together beautifully. Furthermore, the show ends with a few fireworks. It was truly amazing and we definitely enjoyed it! If you are planning to come to Sentosa with your friends or family, Song of the sea is one-of-a-kind entertainment that must not be missed! We strongly recommend you to watch this show.

The video below is a preview of the show (2 minutes).

Isn’t it wonderful? Full of water shows, fire show, laser show, live casts and even fireworks! A great show that you and your friends or family will definitely enjoy!

Others
There are many cafes & bistros, restaurants, beach bars, food court and many more at Sentosa which offers a wide variety of different food and beverages, ranging from rather expensive Italian food in “iI Lido Italian Restaurant” to rather cheap different variety of food in “Koufu Food Court”.

The weather can be very hot, therefore remember to bring cap/hat, umbrella and filled water bottles. Furthermore, you can buy ice-cream from Ben & Jerrys and other stores. On the other hand, sometimes the weather may be bad and rain, therefore remember to always bring umbrella.

Lastly, we recommend you all to come at non-peak season when the attractions at Sentosa are not that crowded and packed. For more information about the admission prices and other things, you can visit
