The Dark Hours - A Very James-ie Day

St James Power Station is famous for the many events that they host for many occations, from Singer’s meet the fans night, to even charity concert. Incidentally, I went to St. James for a charity concert hosted by Music Clinic, a singing school in Singapore.

As I reach the place before night, I rolled my eyes. The place wasn’t as cool as I thought it would be, it looks like a factory or some powerplant. Maybe that is why they call it St. James POWER STATION. Any, as I walk into the place, I understood the saying perfectly. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. It was shocking. There were food eateries of different cuisine everywhere. As you might have realized from the previous post, I go soft with food. There was American food, Korean food and Chinese food. WOW! But I was suffering when I was walking past them. I have not had my dinner!
** After my visit, my friend told me that these restaurants serve perfect food and it is usually full during meal times

I have an advice for all of you. Check the place you want to get in before you try going in. There are many clubs and pubs. So if you are meeting your friend in one of it, make sure you don’t go to the wrong one. Anyway, u can get in all right as a one time enterance fee will allow enterance to almost all the clubs there.

My destination was right beside Dragonfly (Which I apparently went into mistakenly) – St. James Power House. The event I am going for is called vivace, an annual charity concert. I highly recommend you to get to the place early as with or without event, you will have to queue a long time if you go there late.

I step into the power house and I was High high high. There was music, the atmosphere was WOW. There was ample space for movement and the chairs were comfortable. I was surprised by the brilliant service by the server as I have always have an impression of servers at bars to be rude. But they were very polite and introduced to be drinks within my budget.

Listening to the music, I looked up into the ceiling. IT was so well decorated. The walls were painted in a way that it feels like a street. There was one problem. This place I not that camera friendly for a person like me who loves taking photos. Its dark, but it seems rude to put on flash. So, if only it was a little brighter.

After the whole event, we were greeted goodbye by the pleasant servers. I feel really happy and jumped all the way out. As I was crossing the bridge to leave the place, I turn back and look. St. James Power Station Looked fabulous and very different from daylight. From a factory, it transformed to the hippest place in the area.

After all the partying, I felt very hungry. So, I decided to drag my friend along to my favorite haunt, LAU PA SAT. It is the place for anyone who needs food from Breakfast to supper.

If you have read our other post, you would have remembered me introducing you some Singaporean local dishes. Let me give you a tip, if you do not want to go all around Singapore in search of the recommended stalls, you can find all of them here.

I ordered laksa and drank it all up. (Literally as it was so smooth) Still feeling a little perky, I continue walking into the special dining area. Street dining! It is an area where the road is block to make way for food stalls and table and chair. I had satay there and it totally blew my head off.

With all the fun and food, who wouldn’t be contented? But just one thing – there is not enough time. I want to go late night shopping (but I am not allowed to stay out). Well, since I cannot share with you here. You can take a look at what it is about in the post here.
