Singapore Is-Land (The 3 Musketeers)

Other than Pulau Ubin that was mentioned in the previous post, I am now proud to share with you my experience on 3 other islands in Singapore.

This island is most popular for its Tua Pek Gong temple and the tortoise statue. Most Taoist and Buddhist will come to this island just for the temple. You should never leave this place without going up to its hilltop for the breathtaking view. I personally enjoy having a picnic on the beaches with the sea breeze in my face.

In the muddy places on the island, I actually found creatures like the mudskipper and in some deepers holes, rays. So keep your eyes open. You are in for a surprise!

I love the sun, sea, and marine creatures. And thus, I love this place so much, there not only is it a place for a swim in the sea (Swimming Lagoon), beaches and picnic grounds, There is also coral reefs with a variety of soft corals and even sightings of dolphins. I would recommend marine fanatics like me to visit the Marine Aquaculture centre to learn more about the marine life there.

There are chalets and camping facilities there. You will have to book it thought the Sentosa Leisure Group as this island is under the management of them. Spending the night there would be great as it is away for the hectic city life, giving you a breather under the stars.

The only thing that needs to be improves there is that, they do not sell much food there. Therefore, remember to stock up on food before you leave for the island through Marina South Pier. I really hope that they can set up a cafĂ© or a restaurant there, that will really enliven the experience there.

You are highly encouraged to visit this island after St. Johns Island through the St. John’s Causeway. Its very convinient, as such you are able to travel to-and-fro both islands.

The activities that you may engage there would be fishing and water sports activities like jet skiing and diving. There are various spots where you can fish but I would recommend the lagoon behind the island, facing Kusu Island. This place is the place for you if you want to go on surf fishing for Rays, whites, groupers, chermins or tuskfishes.

If you love fishing, it will take a few days for you to try out all the fishing spots on the island. Therefore, it would be best if you spend a few night in the chalet on the St Johns island. Also, there are also constructions currently going on on the the island thus, for safety reasons, please do not wonder off into the construction sites.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that you bring enough water for the day as there is little shelter on the island and it does get really hot during the afternoon.

Well, these are the 3 Islands that i especially love to visit and I hope you will too. Hope that someday, i will be able to see you there.
